HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Jun. 6, 2025) – A long-time servant to Hope College is stepping down.
Friday is the last day on the job for Director of News Media Services Greg Olgers. A 1987 Hope graduate, he stayed at his alma mater and became the editor of the “News from Hope College” publication, as well as serving as one of the school’s official photographers, and had a weekly report on “WHTC Talk of the Town.”
“I can’t even begin to express how grateful I am for the privilege of having been here at Hope. Being on WHTC these past decades to share word of activities at Hope for the community to enjoy has also been a privilege. From hearing Juke Van Oss on the air when I was a young elementary-age child, I had the opportunity as a Hope staff member to be on the air with him–and, in more recent years, with (Gary Stevens)! Thank you!” – Greg Olgers
Olgers also had a brief stint as a general assignment reporter for the Holland Sentinel. He is retiring to devote more time to his family, as well as other activities and interests. Stephanie Schafer will replace him on June 30th.
