LANSING, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Jun. 10, 2025) – Legislation that would mandate public schools in Michigan to deal with the issue of smart phone use in the classroom could take a step forward this week.
The House is expected to vote on Bill 4141, which would require school or academy boards to implement a wireless communications device policy, effective this fall.
Representative Mark Tisdel of suburban Detroit is the primary sponsor of the proposal, with fellow Republican Nancy DeBoer, the second-term lawmaker from Holland, as a co-sponsor.
