HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Jun. 11, 2025) – It’s a big year for the iconic symbol of Holland.
Although the pieces of the vintage DeZwaan Windmill came across by boat to the Tulip City in 1964, it wasn’t until a year later that the structure that survived World War II in the Netherlands was put together at its current home and opened to the public, fully operational and renovated. Matt Helmus, the General Manager of Windmill Island Gardens, will brief Holland City Council members during Wednesday evening’s Study Session on the continued popularity of the site, especially during last month’s Tulip Time Festival, as well as planned upcoming 60th Anniversary celebrations.
