FENNVILLE, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Jun. 16, 2025) – It’s “mission accomplished” for a fundraising project in Fennville.
A Saturday deadline of accumulating $50,000 for overhauling City Square Park was reached with more than six thousand dollars to spare. A total of 460 “patrons” contributed to make an amphitheater, a splash pad, a seating area, and an outdoor fireplace a reality at what is now a vacant area off of Main and Maple streets.
The Michigan Economic Development Corporation will now match all that money to help in the million-dollar project, a third of which is also being funded through federal grants. Now that this cash-raising effort is complete, city officials are hoping to have some of the elements of the park available by late summer or early fall, with the entire project completed in a year’s time.
