LAKETOWN TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Jul. 15, 2025) – After hearing from four semifinalists, the Laketown Township Board of Trustees is expected to decide who the finalists will be for the vacant managerial position in a special meeting on Tuesday evening.
Current Park Township Manager Howard Fink, Kentwood Executive Assistant Stephanie Fox, Graafschap Fire Department Administrative Captain David Grumney, and Town Manager Lynne Ladner from Ocean Ridge, Florida were interviewed by township trustees in separate hour-long public interview sessions on Monday evening. They emerged from 45 applicants who were considered by the governing panel in two closed door sessions, with one unnamed semifinalist dropping out prior to this announcement.
The Laketown Township managerial position has been vacant since Al Meshkin retired in January after 37 years. An earlier search ended up with no choice made, when the board had a dispute over who to offer the position to among two finalists, leading to both declining to accept an offer. A second search began in earnest last month, with applications taken through July 3rd. Township Supervisor Steven Ringelberg is currently serving as an interim manager.
After directly interviewing Fox, Fink and Grumney, while holding a virtual session with Ladner, township trustees will huddle at 6 PM in the Township Hall (4338 Beeline Rd.). Two finalists will then be chosen to come to the Graafschap Fire Department station (4534 60th St.) this coming Monday, July 21st, for an 11 AM public meet-and-greet, before a final 6 PM interview session at the township hall.
