Ed was born in Laredo, Texas August 23, 1944 to Louis and Guadalupe (Fierro) Garcia. He proudly served our country in the United States Marine Corps in Viet Nam for 3 tours. He worked as a quality specialist for Byrne Electric, then as an independent contractor for Byrne. Ed will be remembered as a proud, hard-working family man, who would always do the right thing. He taught his family these traits, and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents Louis and Guadalupe; siblings Norma Perez, Grace Leon, Luis Garcia, George Garcia, and Joseph Fierro.
He is survived by his loving wife of almost 60 years, Nilda Garcia; 2 children, Celena (Jamshid) Zonoozi and Dave (Emily) Garcia; grandchildren Victoria (Jimmy) Holmes and Jordan Garcia, Ethan Garcia ; great grandchildren Jacob, Violet, and Monroe Holmes; step grandchildren Max Heerema and Lilly Garcia; siblings Art (Piedad) Garcia, Thelma (Michael) Castaneda, Robert Garcia; in-laws Frances Garcia and Maria Guadalupe Martinez; many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
A service to celebrate Ed’s life with military honors will be at 12 pm, July 28, 2025 (Monday), at Fellowship Reformed Church, 2165 W. Lakewood Blvd, Holland with Pastor Nate Schipper officiating.
Visitation will be from 10:30am-11:30am at the church prior to the service on July 28.
