HOLLAND TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Sept. 16, 2025) – What does a politician do when he or she is term limited out of office?
For Rosalynn Bliss, it’s an excursion into the world of finance. The two-term mayor of Grand Rapids, who was mandated out of office last year, was appointed on Monday by Holland-based Macatawa Bank to its board of directors, effective on October 22nd.
Her full-time duties is as an assistant dean and chief external relations officer at Michigan State University’s College of Human Medicine in the Calder City. It includes overseeing communications and marketing, community engagement and outreach, governmental and hospital relations, and industry partnerships for the college.
Bliss is also on several other boards, including Grand Rapids’ Downtown Development Authority, the Kent County Convention/Arena Authority, Community Rebuilders, and the Fredrik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park. She joins VA Enterprises CEO Nicole Dandridge, Geenen DeKock Properties Managing Partner Charles Geenen, former partner Bob Herr of Crowe, VP of Finance & CFO for Pine Rest Paul Karsten, and PADNOS Executive VP Doug Padnos on the Macatawa Bank board.
