SAUGATUCK, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Oct. 27, 2025) – Two matters highlight Monday evening’s biweekly Saugatuck City Council business meeting.
The governing panel will vote on approving a new contract with Grand Rapids-based lake management firm Aquatic Doctors to continue combating the invasive Eurasian Water Milfoil in Kalamazoo Lake. The shared pact with Douglas calls for an expense of around $70,000, similar to that of this year, which, after a successful removal effort in 2025, should be more of maintenance, according to Aquatic Doctors President Ryan Schauland.
The other measure under consideration is to update and post rules at all municipal parks, especially to clear up misconceptions over overnight sleeping or camping, and to improve enforcement efforts.
The 6:30 PM business session for the Saugatuck City Council will be in the second floor meeting room of Saugatuck City Hall (102 Butler St.). An online link to the agenda and supporting documents is here.
