HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Feb. 11, 2026) – Funeral arrangements have been announced for the man who helped move Hudsonville Ice Cream’s operations into Holland.
The family of Denny Ellens announced this past Saturday his passing at the age of 70, saying only that his death was unexpected, but giving no details as to a cause. He had purchased the now 100-year-old company in 2003, and moved it to its current location off of East 48th Street. The facility has undergone a number of expansions stemming from sales growth since then, including a planned $40 million improvement approved by various government entities last summer.
Mr. Ellens was the CEO of Hudsonville Ice Cream for 20 years before handing over the operational reins to Tina Floyd, and remained on the company’s board of directors until his death.
A visitation is planned for next Thursday, February 19th at Central Wesleyan Church (446 W. 40th St.), from 9:30 to 11 AM, and from 3 to 8 PM. A celebration of life service is slated for the following day, February 20 at 1:30 PM, also at Central Wesleyan Church. Attendees are asked to use entrance “A”.
