HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Feb. 16, 2026) – A year-long celebration of this country’s 250th anniversary as it pertains to the Lakeshore is underway at the Holland Museum and at Zeeland’s Dekker Huis Museum.
“We the People” is an America250 exhibit that will be on display through next January 11th at the Holland Museum’s Lobby Gallery, according to the Museum’s Executive Director Michelle Stempien.
Ken Kolk with the Zeeland Historical Society says that his group’s collection of the initial immigrants from the Netherlands is impressive.
There will be Open Houses from 4-7 PM on Monday at the Dekker Huis Museum (37 East Main Ave.) and at the Holland Museum (31 West 10th St.). Patrons are encouraged to view both displays to get a fuller understanding of this region’s diverse and evolving cultural landscape.
Funding comes from a grant by America250MI, the state’s committee for the US Semiquincentennial established by Governor Whitmer six years ago.
