HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Mar. 5, 2026) – A new home for Holland’s Community Kitchen is coming.
It’s the second week that the free weekday service for the needy is being held at First United Methodist Church (57 W. 10th St.), from 11 AM to 12:30 PM. It had been at the Western Theological Seminary campus since its inception more than three decades ago before the need to have a bigger facility necessitated this move.
The food service at the church, which also holds a “refresh” ministry to clean the homeless on Tuesday and Friday mornings, in addition to Wednesday evenings, will be temporary in nature, until work on upgrading the enhancing the kitchen and dining room at the Salvation Army of Holland campus off of Clover Avenue is completed.
Captain Matt Winters is a co-pastor of the Salvation Army is pleased to work with the Community Action House of Holland on this venture.
The renovations are slated for completion by the end of April.
