HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Mar. 6, 2026) – It may be time to get “unplugged.”
The Global Day of Unplugging is a worldwide, 24-hour digital pause where organizers look to have people and communities power down devices and power up on real world connection. It’s held on the first weekend in March since 2009, and officials with the Unplug Cooperative in Southern California plan to launch a coordinated research study to better understand what happens when people gather offline, on purpose.
This would be in line with what the ODC Network in Holland has been trying to do during the first three months of 2026, hosting four seminars in its “Unplugged: Disconnect to Reconnect” series that explored how technology is reshaping lives, shared the science of human connection, and offered practical ways to restore balance, according to the Network’s Maddie Tunison.
The final hour-long free seminar in the ODC Network’s “Unplugged” series is on March 17th at Ridge Point Community Church (340 104th Ave.), where Let Grow President Lenore Skenazy will talk about parenting, independence, and play. An online link to more information is here.
