GRAND HAVEN, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Mar. 11, 2026) – A 38-year-old Spring Lake man is behind bars after a Monday arrest on first degree criminal sexual conduct charges.
Bond was denied by 58th District Court Judge Craig Bunce in Grand Haven for Charles Freeman, who was apprehended on two such criminal counts, along with related charges. The accused was the Dean of Students with the Walden Green Montessori School in Ferrysburg when allegations of possible sexual abuse against an unnamed girl surfaced on Sunday, and detectives, working with school officials, say that they are unaware, at this point, that any such criminal activity had occurred on school grounds. His name was no longer listed on the school’s website as of Wednesday.
