HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Mar. 19, 2026) – A look back at a successful inaugural season for the Holland Ice Park highlighted Wednesday night’s biweekly City Council meeting.
A recap of how things went at the skating ribbon and adjacent curling sheet, since the grand opening last November to its final weekend that ended this past Sunday, was on the agenda. Some of the numbers disclosed were around 34,000 bookings of the skating ribbon, which constituted a near sell-out of all of the sessions; 213 reservations for the curling sheet; and 8,219 cups of hot cocoa sold in the warming building.
City Parks Manager Andy Kenyon credited the staff there for much of the ice park’s success.
Other non-skating activities are expected to be held at the facility through the spring, summer and early fall months before the new skating season begins around Thanksgiving.
There were two dozen items on the consent agenda for the 6 PM Holland City Council meeting in Chambers at Holland City Hall (270 S. River Ave.). An online link to the agenda and supporting documents is here.
