OLIVE TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – A doodle by a Hudsonville High student has earned a statewide honor and could be in line for a national accolade.
Magdelyn Marchinkewicz’ “I Am Strong” beat out over 45,000 entries to win the Doodle for Google art contest for Michigan, and her work is in the running for the national title, which comes with a $30,000 college scholarship for her and a $50,000 tech package for the Careerline Tech Center, where she is a graphic design program student.
“My doodle demonstrates ‘I Am Strong’ because of how we can all come together as one,” Marchinkewicz said in a Careerline Tech release. “I showed everyone’s differences and how we are all similar in many different ways.”
The annual Doodle for Google contest is open for students from kindergarten through 12th grade, with online voting to determine the five finalists open through 11:59 PM on Friday (May 14th).
