HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — A 34-year-old Holland man has died in an Ottawa Beach Road traffic crash. The driver of the 2006 Ford sedan, a 22-year-old Holland woman, is in critical condition at Spectrum Health Butterworth.
Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sgt. Nicholas Knott said the crash, which happened just before 6 p.m. Monday, Aug. 16, 2021, happened when the Holland woman made an “abrupt U turn” near the Ottawa County Fairgrounds. A westbound Ford SUV, with a 36-year-old Jenison man at the wheel, hit the passenger car.
The Jenison man and passengers in the SUV were taken by AMR Ambulance to Spectrum Zeeland with what police called non-life-threatening injuries.
The crash remains under investigation; victims’ names are withheld pending notification of family members.
