HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — Tulip Time Festival officials are recruiting festival guides for walking tours and motor-coach tours.
Festival officials have organized an informational meeting for anyone interested in volunteering as guides during the spring festival, set for May 7 through 15, 2022.
People who attend this month’s meeting can learn about tour guide benefits and requirements and can ask questions of tour-guide coordinator Tim Vreeman.
Tour guides, who are expected to be in full Dutch costumes during their volunteer shifts, are key people, welcoming guests to the Holland and effectively serve as community ambassadors.
Walking tour guides will lead groups on a one-and-a-half-mile walk covering portions of downtown from the Herrick District Library and Centennial Park, and through Hope College.
Step-on-guides also will be in full Dutch costume and will board a motor coach for two hours
All guides will received $30 in West Coast Cash for each tour they guide. These volunteers can choose to participate in multiple tours, or as few as one tour.
The meeting is set for 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2021, at Tulip Time’s downtown offices, 42 W. Eighth St. in Holland. No registration is required.
