GRAND HAVEN, MI (WHTC AM/FM) – A 21-year-old Holland man has been to a minimum of 21 years and a maximum of 60 years in prison after pleading guilty to a second- degree murder charge.
In June, Jose Perez-Jaquez pleaded guilty and admitted to firing the gun that killed 20-year-old Victor Gil-Bravo, just before his jury trial was scheduled to begin. He was sentenced Monday in Ottawa County Circuit Court.
Gil-Bravo was shot to death August 30, 2020 at the Leisure Estates Mobile Home Park in Ho, where he lived with his family.
Perez-Jaquez was arrested shortly after the shooting after being quickly identified by witnesses and surveillance video.
He must also serve two years for a weapons offense prior to the sentence for second- degree murder.
