Dennis Vanden Heuvel, 97, of Zeeland, went to be with his Heavenly Father on Friday, August 5, 2022.
Dennis was born March 3, 1925, in Zeeland, to the late Dick and Antoinette Vanden Heuvel. Dennis is a lifelong member of First Christian Reformed Church and has served as a deacon, elder, Adult Bible Class leader, and helper in the Bridge Youth Center. He graduated from Zeeland Christian and Holland Christian High School. During World War II, he served in the U.S. Army Air Corps. After retiring from First Michigan Bank and Trust Company, he volunteered his services at many various places and opportunities, including World Renew.
Dennis is survived by his wife of 76 years, Angie, their children: Rev. Jack and Karen Vanden Heuvel of Victoria, MN, Dawn and Doug Terpstra of Orland Park, IL, Nancy and Rev. Douglas Einfeld of Coopersville, MI, 11 precious grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and sister Althea Robbert.
A funeral service with military honors will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, August 10, 2022, at First Christian Reformed Church, 15 S. Church St., Zeeland MI 49464. Rev. Jack Vanden Heuvel, Rev. Douglas Einfield, and Rev. Bernard Mulder will officiate. Visitation will be 4-7 pm, Tuesday, at the Yntema Funeral Home, 251 S. State Street, Zeeland MI 49464. Interment will be in Zeeland Cemetery Veterans Section. Memorial contributions may be made to The Bridge Youth Center.
