Robert William Bolles, age 63, passed away on Friday, January 27, 2023.
Bob was born in Saugatuck in 1959 to Bill and Bernadine Bolles. He was the middle sibling of five children. After graduating from Saugatuck High School, he received his journeyman card and began a career in tool and die at Hart & Cooley where he worked for 30 years. He continued working in the tool and die until 2020 when he partially retired at Ottawa Gage. He will always be remembered as a very intelligent and hardworking husband and father.
Within his family and friends, he was the dependable backbone who always knew how to help and always wanted to. For any home repair, project, or vehicle maintenance, he was an undeniable expert with an endless list of skills. He was a hunter and loved to fish with his friends. Bob was also the family-proclaimed chef. He enjoyed tweaking recipes that everyone adored and was always happy to write them down. There just wasn’t much that Bob hadn’t mastered. He was the Grill father.
To Bob, the most important thing in life was family; and his family loved him very much. He loved to travel the country with his beloved wife and their spoiled golden retriever, Laya. Together they enjoyed camping, vacationing with his mom and sister, hiking, visiting with friends, Friday night campfires at their house, cookouts, and creating memories for their grandchildren. He adored his grandchildren and passed along many things to them, including memories at the cabin, fun family traditions, and his sarcastic sense of humor. Ultimately, his wife and family were his driving force and they were spoiled by his thoughtfulness and love.
He is preceded in death by his father; William Bolles.
He is survived by his wife, Debra Bolles; daughter, Ashley and Carlos Fossati (Trent, Isabella); daughter, Amanda Bolles; stepdaughter, Dalena Hanegraaff (Emma); stepdaughter, Danielle and Miguel Cano (Michelle, Nicole, Katherine, Lexy, Charlotte); mother, Bernadine Bolles; brother, Joe Bolles; brother, Mike and Julie Bolles; sister, Diann and Tim Carpenter; brother, Jim, and Angie Bolles; and many nieces and nephews.
