HOLLAND TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Mar. 11, 2023) – A four-vehicle pileup on Holland’s North Side snarled traffic late on Friday night and hospitalized two persons.
According to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sergeant Eric DeBoer, deputies and other first responders were dispatched at 10:15 PM to the US-31 at Lakewood Boulevard junction. That was where a northbound sedan, driven by a 22-year-old Fennville man, apparently rear-ended a northbound SUV, driven by a 17-year-old Holland woman. The force of that collision pushed the SUV across the median and into southbound traffic, causing two vehicles to becoming involved in the incident.
One of the drivers had to be extricated by rescue workers, and two of the motorists were taken to Holland Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. It took more than an hour to clear up the scene and restore traffic on the highway.
The incident remains under investigation.
