HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Apr. 10, 2023) – A busy week lies ahead at Holland City Hall (270 S. River Ave.).
It begins Tuesday at 5 PM with the monthly Planning Commission meeting, followed the following evening by not only the biweekly City Council business meeting, but the first of two nights of budget reviews by the governing panel of the proposed spending plan put together by City Manager Keith Van Beek and his staff.
Before the second budget review session on Thursday, there will be a Community Open House from 4-6 PM, in which a Master Plan that was initially drawn up six years ago will have proposed updates to its goals and objectives available for public consideration. City planners have three monthly discussions on the plan slated to begin on April 25th.
On Saturday, the Holland Youth Advisory Council will be busy, beginning at 9 AM for a two-hour beach cleanup at Holland State Park (2215 Ottawa Beach Rd.), assisted by public volunteers and the Hope College Office of Sustainability. At 1 PM, the council will host a presentation titled “Learning About Sustainability from the Native American Community” at the DeGraaf Nature Center (600 Graafschap Rd.), with members of the Pokagon Band of the Potawatomi talking about how modern sustainability efforts can learn from their history and culture of caring for the earth.
