GEORGETOWN TWP. MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Apr. 18, 2023) – A 19-year-old worker succumbed to injuries suffered in what is being initially described as an industrial accident in Jenison on Tuesday afternoon.
According to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Lieutenant Nicholas Knott, deputies and other first responders were dispatched to a facility in the area of 18th Avenue and Chicago Drive (M-121) around 3:15 PM. All he immediately disclosed was that this person had been working on a piece of construction equipment when the injury took place, and despite efforts by rescuers at the scene, the worker was pronounced deceased by the Ottawa County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Knott did not disclose the person’s name, nor the circumstances that led to the incident, which remains under investigation.
