WRIGHT TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, May 30, 2023) – The search is on for a motorist who fled the scene after crashing a vehicle into a house in the Marne area late on Monday night.
According to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sergeant Jon Smoes, the driver apparently “failed to negotiate” a curve while attempting to leave eastbound I-96 at the 23 mile exit. The vehicle veered to the left and struck a home east of Washington Street, while the motorist fled on foot before deputies and other first responders arrived. One person was inside of the residence at the time, but was not hurt.
