Anne Porter, age 49, passed away unexpectedly in her home on Thursday, July 6, 2023.
Anne’s parents were blessed to have children who were well thought of in the community. This was true of Anne and they were very proud of her. She was crafty and was ALL heart. Giving her time and talents were a priority for her but she loved her family and “found” family first.
Anne was a partner at De Boer Baumann and Company P.L.C. She served on the board of Kids Food Basket of which she was extremely passionate. She served as treasurer and board member of Tulip Time for many years. She was chairman of the staff parish team at First United Methodist where she was a member and active participant in ministry. Anne loved her community and gave of herself freely and generously. She was dearly loved and will be deeply missed.
She is preceded in death by her grandfather, Ralph DeVries; grandparents, Royal and Francis Porter; uncle, Bob Porter; and aunt, Marian Kilgore.
She is survived by her parents, Jeff and Mary Porter; brother, Chris and Karla Porter; nephew, Alexander and Gaby Porter; niece, Karissa and Cade Stephenson; grandmother, Jean DeVries; her aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and dear friends.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 3:00 pm on Thursday, July 13, 2023, at First United Methodist Church, 57 West 10th St. Holland, MI 49423.
Interment to take place in Rosedale Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family strongly encourages consideration of a memorial gift to one of the organizations Anne loved and served for many years.
