HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Dec. 13, 2023) – A preview of what to expect in 2024 could be presented on Wednesday evening at Holland City Hall (270 S. River Ave.).
During the 6 PM biweekly Study Session in the second floor Training Room, City Council members will be briefed by City Manager Keith Van Beek and his staff on the costs for the upcoming biennial Resident Survey conducted by members of Hope College’s Frost Center for Data and Research. That agency is projecting an estimated $26,250 needed to contact 500 residents during the month of February, asking for their views on a number of municipal topics. The results of that canvassing would be presented by late April or early May to the governing panel.
Also on the study session agenda is talk on proceeding on the long-awaited move of the historic city greenhouse near the junction of State Street and Central Avenue to a spot at Centennial Park. The Historic District Commission has issued a Notice to Proceed to the city, valid through next December, that would allow for the dismantling of the 27 foot by 27 foot central portion of the Tropical House. This would allow the city to submit plans for such actions to the building and zoning department for approval.
