OLIVE TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Mar. 9, 2024) – Two 22-year-olds were injured when the vehicle that they were in crashed into a tree southwest of Allendale early on Saturday morning.
According to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sergeant Jon Smoes, the eastbound SUV that a woman from Allendale was driving on Fillmore Street around 2 AM hit some water that ponded over the roadway west of 96th Avenue. That caused the vehicle to veer to the right, off of the roadway, and it struck a tree.
While the driver had bumps and bruises that was treated at an undisclosed local hospital, her passenger, a Zeeland man, was taken to Holland Hospital with serious but not considered to be life-threating injuries.
The incident remains under investigation.
