Emily peacefully passed away on June 20th, 2024.
She fought hard against cancer, putting much effort into researching her disease. Along with traditional treatments, she tried every supplement and lifestyle change she could. When the time came for her to make the decision to let her body rest, she requested to be at home surrounded by family, best friends and the animals that loved her. She got just that. There were many tears shed but even more hugs, kisses, hands held and “I love you” spoken. She spent her last days making sure to find the energy to tell us to “enjoy yourselves” and “don’t forget to feed the dog.”
She will forever be remembered for her tenacious personality, exceptional intellect, her love of all things’ nature and most of all her unwavering love for her family. She will always be there in the waves of Lake Michigan, in the moonlight shining on a campsite, in a bonfire night filled with laughter, in the voice of her daughter reading a children’s book to her future children, in her recipes, and in the blooms of every flower.
She will live on in the hearts and minds of her parents Nate and Marci, her siblings Coleman, Dylan and Hannah, her husband Rick, her sister in-laws Tianna, Carly and Nicole, her in-laws Denise and Kevin, her many nieces and nephews and most of all her daughter Cora. She has been cremated at her request and a celebration of life will take place later this summer.
Arrangements are by Dykstra Funeral Homes-Northwood Chapel.
