Larry was born on August 31, 1938, in Holland, MI to Elmer and Dorothy DeBoer. He graduated from Holland High School in 1957. After high school, Larry joined the United States Air Force and proudly served from 1957 to 1961. Larry then completed schooling at the Spartan School of Aviation in 1967. Larry worked and eventually retired from Hart and Cooley after 37 years. Larry absolutely loved going to and enjoying company at the Wooden Shoe every day for breakfast. Larry will be deeply missed by many.
Larry was preceded in death by: his wife of 44 years, Mary DeBoer; parents, Elmer and Dorothy DeBoer; sister Reathea (Larry) LaFevre; brothers-in-law, Billy Joe Stephens, Lawrence (Ovella) Stephens and John Stephens; son-in-law, Larry York; and mother-in-law, Mrs. Noah (Mary) Byrd.
Larry is survived by: his children, Carolyn York, Michelle DeBoer, Dorothy (Zach Shelton) DeBoer, and Elmer (Jill) DeBoer; grandchildren; great grandchildren; brothers-in-law, Ben (Darlene) Stephens and Frank Stephens; many nephews, nieces, and cousins.
A graveside service will be on Monday August 4, 2025, at 10 am at Rest Lawn Memorial Gardens 994 Paw Paw Dr. Holland, MI 49423.
