HOLLAND TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Aug. 30, 2025) – A Thursday evening domestic dispute that turned violent inside a mobile home on Holland’s North Side has led to the death of one man and the wounding of two others.
According to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Detective Captain Jake Sparks, deupties and other first responders were dispatched to the the Leisure Estates complex off of Butternut Drive at 7:40 PM. They found three persons in a unit there suffering from multiple stab wounds, with one of them, 52-year-old Darrell Sandusky, succumbing to an apparent knife attack. A 55-year-old woman and a 24-year-old man were also injured and taken to an undisclosed “area hospital” for treatment, with the younger man initially listed in critical condition, and the woman treated for lacerations and subsequently released.
A 25-year-old Holland Township man, who was the resident in the mobile home unit in question, was detained and questioned at the scene, but Sparks said that, although he was apparently responsible for the attack, he was released, and no charges were immediately authorized. The detective added that all four persons involved were known to each other, and that the three who were stabbed did not live at the residence. No other names were disclosed.
The incident remains under investigation, and anyone with any information is asked to contact the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office or Ottawa County Silent Observer (877-887-4536).
