At Van Noord Arena in Grand Rapids, Anna Richards had 14 points, but it was Maddie Petroejle’s layup at the buzzer in overtime that lifted the visiting Flying Dutch to victory, 57-55. At DeVos Fieldhouse, Jalen Overway had 21 points with 16 rebounds, as the visiting Knights subdued the Flying Dutchmen, 80-65. Hope’s teams face Albion on Wednesday evening, with the men in Holland, and the women at Kresge Gymnasium in Albion.
Grand Valley State swept a doubleheader from Roosevelt in Chicago yesterday. Paige VanStee tallied 18 points as the visiting Lakers won the women’s opener, 75-37. Jalen Charity tossed in 20 points as the men beat the host Lakers in the nightcap, 87-69. GVSU’s teams are home to Northern Michigan at the Fieldhouse Arena in Allendale on Thursday evening.
