Rosemary McLaughlin (née Seiler), age 93, of Holland, Michigan, passed away peacefully on January 11, 2026.
Rosemary was born on February 3, 1932, in Detroit, Michigan. Throughout her life, she made her home in various communities across the greater Detroit area, later spending time in Venice, Florida, before eventually returning to Michigan to be closer to family.
A loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Rosemary was devoted to her family and found her greatest joy in caring for those she loved. Primarily a dedicated homemaker, she also served as a registered nurse, working for the Ford Motor Company as well as a volunteer at Focus Hope.
Rosemary lived her life guided by a deep and abiding faith, which shaped her values and strengthened her through life’s challenges. Her faith was a constant source of comfort and hope and remains an enduring part of her legacy.
She also possessed a creative spirit and enjoyed sharing her artistic talents through painting and singing. Rosemary cherished time spent with family and friends, especially playing cards and Mahjong. She was well known among her grandchildren for her unmatched skill in catching earthworms for their fishing adventures—a simple joy that created lasting memories.
Rosemary is survived by her five children and their spouses; eleven stepchildren; thirty-one grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Alexander Frederick McLaughlin, two stepchildren and dear sister Rita Hagan.
A funeral service will be at 10:30 AM on, Friday, February 6, 2026 at St. Thomas a’Becket Catholic Church, 555 S. Lilley Road, Canton, MI 48188. Prior to the service on Friday, there will be visitation with beginning at 10:00 AM, also at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Corewell Health Hospice, 25 Michigan St. NE, Suite 4100, Grand Rapids, MI 49503.
