GRAND RAPIDS, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Apr. 30, 2026) – It’s spring cleaning and sprucing up time, and the local United Way is pitching in to help those who have served this country in the military.
More than 30 local veterans are getting critical landscaping and outdoor home repairs from teams of volunteers, some of which were slated to fan out across Allegan, Kent and Ottawa counties on Wednesday, and others scheduled for Friday. Operation United, which includes painting, refuse removal, mulching, planting, and law mowing, was organized by the Heart of West Michigan United Way through grants from the Home Depot Foundation, Elevated Technologies, and other local companies.
