ZEELAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, May 4, 2026) – Getting the financial compass set for the next 14 months headlines Monday night’s Zeeland City Council meeting.
A public hearing is slated ahead of a final voter on a more than $81.6 million spending plan for Fiscal 2027. It’s roughly half a million dollars more than expected revenues, which would necessitate a transfer of funds from reserves to balance the books. However, City Manager Tim Klunder and his staff have based this financial blueprint on a millage rate of just over 11.1 mills, a level that has remained steady since 2010, outside of years affected by the COVID outbreak.
The Zeeland City Council has a 5:45 PM Work Study Session ahead of the 7 PM business meeting, both of which will be in Chambers at Zeeland City Hall (21 S. Elm St.). An online link to the agenda and supporting documents is here.
