OVERISEL TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, May 14, 2026) – A two-vehicle crash southeast of Holland on Wednesday evening cost the life of one of the motorists involved.
No details as to the name, age, or hometown of the deceased woman were immediately disclosed by the Allegan County Sheriff’s Office following the incident, which occurred around 5:45 PM at the intersection of 146th Avenue and 36th Street. A northbound black SUV apparently drove through a stop sign and into the path of a westbound gray pickup truck.
The force of the collision caused the SUV driver to be thrown from her vehicle, leading to fatal injuries at the scene. The other motorist was seriously hurt and had to be flown by AeroMed to an undisclosed hospital for treatment.
It took about two hours for crash reconstruction investigators to go over the scene, and for clean up efforts, before the intersection was reopened. A probe into the incident is ongoing.
