HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, May 19, 2026) – Holland’s Herrick District Library has a new operational leader.
On Monday, it was announced that Ron Suszek will assume the library director’s position. A 20-year veteran of public library service, he comes south from Muskegon, where he held a similar role with its Area District Library for the past four years, and was with the San Antonio Public Library before that. It’s a homecoming of sorts for Suszek, who received his bachelors degree from Hope College before getting his masters from the University of Illinois.
Suszek replaces Diane Kooiker, who retired earlier this year after a dozen years at the helm, in which she oversaw a major renovation of the main building off of River Avenue, as well as eliminating fines, and expanding library services.
