Rose Marie Bush, age 89, of Holland, passed away peacefully on May 20, 2026.
Rose had an extraordinary ability to connect with people from all walks of life. Her genuine care for others was evident in her willingness to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Rose enjoyed a successful career in the world of computers, contributing significantly to various businesses throughout Holland.
Rose was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She had a deep love for flowers and the beauty of nature, which she shared through her garden and her longtime membership in the Holland Garden Club. She was known to tell her family, “If you can’t send me flowers while I’m alive, don’t send them to my funeral” — a saying that may have been her own clever way of making sure her doorstep was never without a fresh bouquet. She cherished the simple joys in life — a margarita on the deck with family who stopped by, or a good phone call with a friend. A lifelong Detroit Tigers fan, she never missed a game, though she would always mute it the moment a loved one called. She was a driven and accomplished woman who brought that same dedication to her career and to every relationship she held dear.
Rose is survived by her children: Tamala Bush TenCate, Kirk Bush, Todd (Tina) Bush, Troy (Karen) Bush; grandchildren: April Wallinga, Heather (Dustin) Reed, Amber (Josh) Bouma, Amanda (Chris) Brenner, Katelyn (Brandon) Ferro, Matthew (Mary Margaret) Bush, Kyle (Kathrine) Bush, Jennifer Ruiz (Brian) England, Lisa (Brent) Beverwyk, Logan Bush, Morgan (Jake) Vroon, and Colin Bush; as well as 24 great-grandchildren; siblings: Karen Staat, Judy Staat, Irene Wagner, and Jim Staat.
Rose was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Roger Bush in 2023.
Funeral services for Rose will be at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at Yntema Funeral Home, 251 S. State Street, Zeeland, MI 49464. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 5:00-7:00 PM on Tuesday, May 26.
Memorial contributions may be given to Hospice of Holland.
