Dorothy May Strengholt, age 93, passed away on June 7, 2026, peacefully surrounded by the love of her family.
She was born on December 21, 1932, to Andrew Millard and Ruth (Rice) Millard.
She was preceded in death by her beloved son, David Strengholt.
She is survived by her sons, Tom Strengholt and Rick Strengholt, daughter -in-law Morna Strengholt, her grandchildren, Deb and Steve Pierce, Tammy and Brian Sherman, Jeffrey Strengholt, Travis Strengholt, Melissa and Stephan Church, and Emily and Dan Newell. She also leaves behind seven great-grandchildren, Nate Pierce, Noah Pierce, Abby Pierce, Jacob Pierce, Nicole Eldridge, Lucas Church and Elliot Church and one great-great-grandchild, Lincoln Eldridge, all of whom brought her immense joy and pride.
She was known for her fierce independence, competitive spirit, and unmistakable spunk. A gifted athlete throughout her life, she approached every challenge with determination and energy. Whether on the course, at the card table, or in everyday life, she loved a good competition and rarely backed down from one.
Those who knew her best will remember her as a true spitfire-strong-willed, resilient, and never afraid to speak her mind. Yet beneath that tough exterior was a deeply loving and devoted woman who was always there when her family needed her. Her unwavering support, wisdom, and presence will be greatly missed.
Her legacy lives on through the family she cherished and the countless memories she created with those she loved. Though she is no longer with us, her strength, humor, and spirited nature will continue to inspire all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
A private memorial service will be held by family.
