UNDATED (WHTC-AM/FM, Jun. 11, 2026) – The weather could put a damper on planned summer activities along the Lakeshore on Thursday evening.
It’s the kickoff of the Street Performer Series in downtown Holland, a tradition going back more than 20 years, according to Marketing Coordinator Kara de Alvare.
The weekly 6:30-8:30 PM series, which blocks off 8th Street between Columbia and River avenues, runs through August 13th.
Meanwhile, the annual Chalk Fest takes over the space across from Zeeland City Hall off of Elm Street, from 6-9 PM. Besides artists and youngsters working on their creations, there will be food trucks, outdoor games, live music from the nearby weekly Music on Main series, and the splash pad nearby.
Both activities are weather-dependent.
