PARK TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Jun. 20, 2026) – Nobody was hurt, but damage was considered “extensive,” following a Friday night residential fire on Holland’s South Side.
Crews from three departments responded to the 6:30 PM blaze in the 600 block of South 160th Avenue. A garage attached to a house had caught fire, with the flames spreading to the dwelling when firefighters arrived.
Four adults were able to successfully flee the structure by the time first responders arrived, with three dogs and a cat subsequently rescued safely by those crews. It took about five hours to bring the fire under control, along with dousing down remaining hot spots, and conducting overhaul operations. No firefighters were reported injured.
A cause of the fire wasn’t immediately determined, nor was any dollar estimate of damage sustained, as the incident remains under investigation.
