Marilyn Elzinga, age 88, quietly passed away on Tuesday, July 21, 2026.
Marilyn was a devoted wife and mom, loved to engage and entertain her family; a grandmother who was sometimes a little ‘Sassy’ but always sweet. She enjoyed writing poetry, camping, and throwing a great Easter egg hunt. She was dearly loved and will be deeply missed.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Peter Elzinga; and son, Karl Elzinga.
She is survived by her children, Michael and Ruth Elzinga, Randy Elzinga, Patricia and Dan Vanden Heuvel; daughter-in-law, Mary Elzinga; 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; sister, Sherry and Harold Diepenhorst; in-laws, Allen Elzinga, Elaine Elzinga, Terry and Sandy Elzinga; and numerous extended family members.
Visitation with the family is 6:00-8:00 pm on Sunday, July 26, 2026, at Yntema Funeral Home, 251 S. State. St. Zeeland, MI 49464.
Funeral services are at 11:00 am on Monday, July 27, 2026, at First Protestant Reformed Church, 3641 104th Ave. Zeeland, MI 49464 with Rev. Justin Smidstra officiating.
Burial to take place in Zeeland Cemetery.
