WRIGHT TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Sept. 4, 2026) – Three persons were hospitalized following a single-vehicle crash near Marne during the overnight hours on Friday.
When first responders arrived in the vicinity of I-96 near the 8th Avenue junction around 4:15 AM, they found an overturned vehicle in the median of I-96, around the 8th Avenue junction. They were able to extricate two pinned in front-seat passengers, and conveyed the unnamed occupants – a 28-year-old Norton Shores woman who was the driver, along with a 25-year-old Grand Haven woman and a 27-year-old Cedar Springs man – to a “local hospital” for treatment of undisclosed injuries.
It was determined that the vehicle had been northbound on 8th Avenue and failed to negotiate a turn onto Ironwood Drive (M-11). It then went up a highway embankment, cleared the eastbound lanes of the freeway, and then landed in the median. One person was thrown from the vehicle as a result.
The incident remains under investigation.
