Mark was born and raised in Holland, Michigan, and graduated from Holland Christian High School. He lived for many years in Laketown Township in the Holland area where he enjoyed hiking, riding bike, and fishing. Mark will be remembered for his love of family, his distinctive laughter and his many outdoor activities. He was known for his excellent problem-solving skills and working with his hands. He could fix just about anything, including computers, engines, and machines large and small.
Mark was preceded in death by his grandparents, James and Jennie VanDeVusse and Arthur and Joan Slenk.
He is survived by his son Ben VanDeVusse (Melissa); grandchildren Kendra and Brody; stepdaughter Misty Wilson and former wife Cindy Ascherman. He is also survived by his parents, James and Sharon VanDeVusse; brothers Mike (Bonnie) VanDeVusse, Jeffrey (Kristin) VanDeVusse; sister Lynn (Mike) Ward; and many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Mark’s life will be 11:00am, September 19, 2026 (Saturday) at Lakeshore Memorial Services, 11939 James St., Holland.
Visitation will be from 1 hour prior to the services beginning at 10am on September 19.
