SPRING LAKE TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Sept. 20, 2026) – A 21-year-old Spring Lake man was critically injured when his motorcycle crashed into a pickup truck along US-31 on Sunday afternoon.
First responders were dispatched to the highway near Taft Street around 2:45 PM, where they found the unnamed motorcyclist thrown off of his machine. As he was taken to an “area hospital” for treatment, deputies determined that the farm pickup, which was heading northbound in the right lane, merged into the left lane and into the path of the motorcycle, which caused it to rear-end the truck. An unnamed 70-year-old Montague man driving the larger vehicle was not hurt.
The incident remains under investigation.
