PARK TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Sept. 30, 2026) – Whatever name one wants to use in calling it, AI is apparently here to stay.
On Tuesday, a summit at the White House had President Trump meeting with tech leaders over growing fears about the rapid advancement of artificial intelligence. Mr. Trump trumpeted the term “super intelligence” as coming out of the session, along with a signed document which lays out a series of safety commitments around AI advancement, including an agreement for the industry to self-police themselves with government oversight, not over-regulation.
This week, students in an AI Foundations for College and Careers class at West Ottawa High School took part in a “Socratic Seminar” on the ethics of the technology in education. It’s part of the learning process in preparing them for what lies ahead, according to district Superintendent Tim Bearden.
At the AI summit, the President added he’s working with participants to help with local communities in promoting the build-out of controversial data centers needed to power this technology.
