ZEELAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Oct. 5, 2026) – The first of the League of Women Voters of the Holland Area forums ahead of the November 3rd General Election is on Monday night.
A look at two statewide proposals on the ballot, as well as a number of local questions, is the focus of the 6:30-8 PM session inside of the Howard Miller Library in Zeeland (14 S. Church St.). Proposal 1 asks whether a state constitutional convention should be convened next year, while proposal 2 would prohibit organizations and individuals who get $250,000 or more annually in government contracts from contributing to political campaigns.
Countywide questions include a millage increase for Ottawa County Parks, along with renewing the Allegan Conservation District levy, while there are 25 local government/school proposals along the Lakeshore on the ballot.
The League of Women Voters of the Holland Area has a number of other events planned ahead of the election. An online link to this calendar is here.
