OLIVE TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Oct. 6, 2026) – For the third time in less than 72 hours, there has been a fatal vehicle crash in Ottawa County.
Around 2:20 PM on Monday, first responders were dispatched to the junction of 120th Avenue and Stanton Street in West Olive on a report of a SUV colliding with a cement truck. One of the five persons in the SUV died at the scene, while four other persons were hospitalized in critical condition, and the trucker was apparently not hurt. No names were disclosed.
Investigators believe that the westbound SUV apparently failed to yield the right of way to the northbound truck, leading to the collision.
On Friday evening, a 34-year-old Allendale man lost his life in a two-vehicle crash on Lake Michigan Drive at 78th Avenue. Overnight on Sunday, a 20-year-old Coopersville man perished when his vehicle went off of Leonard Street near 14th Avenue and struck a tree.
All three incidents remain under investigation.
