BLENDON TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Sept. 7, 2026) – Four persons were hurt in a fiery three-vehicle pileup northeast of Zeeland around dawn on Wednesday.
No names were disclosed by Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sergeant Michael Tamminga as first responders were dispatched to 72nd Avenue at Blair Street around 7:20 AM. That was where a northbound vehicle rearended another vehicle that had slowed to make a left turn. The force of that collision caused the second vehicle to be hit head on by a southbound sedan, while the first vehicle veered to the right, went into a ditch, and became engulfed in flames.
The driver of the first vehicle, a 21-year-old Zeeland man, was able to escape the blaze and was treated at the scene for bumps and bruises. A 17-year-old Zeeland woman driving the second vehicle, who had a 14-year-old girl as a passenger, were taken to a “local hospital” in serious condition, while the driver of the third vehicle, a 36-year-old Allendale woman, was also treated at the scene for bumps and bruises.
The incident remains under investigation.
