Live Demo Night
The Frame and Mat Shop opens Fine Art and Crafts Gallery, and hosts an October 6th Live Demo
Night, featuring wheel-throwing, painting, and live music.
As many arts organizations have been forced to close in recent years after Covid or personal
hardships, 50+ year-old, family owned frame shop hopes to fill the gallery void by opening their
doors to regional artists seeking representation in Holland. “We want to offer a positive
experience for art enthusiasts, shoppers, and artists alike. We’d like to prove to be a positive
addition to Holland’s already rich visual arts scene, by offering bi-annual evening gallery events
that showcase and celebrate regional arts, and by featuring new art year-round by fresh faces
and long-time local favorites. For example we are the current Holland representation for both
Joel Schoon-Tanis, known for his whimsical local murals, adult children’s books, and colorful
scenes, and for local up and coming ceramicist, fiber artist, and arts educator, Miranda Craig,”
writes the F&M Shop Gallery’s new curator, PaulaJo Maske. Along with still providing the same
time proven professionalism in custom framing that customers have known for over 50 years,
the Frame and Mat Shop, on the bend in Michigan Ave, now sells original photography,
paintings, prints, glass sculpture, ceramics, wood carving, mixed media, and jewelry. The event will be held from 5-8pm
