HOLLAND TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Feb. 20, 2024) – A 32-year-old Grand Rapids man was injured following a single-vehicle crash east of Holland on Tuesday morning.
According to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sergeant Greg Rotman, deputies and other first responders were dispatched to westbound I-196 near Adams Street shortly before 10 AM. That was where a work van left the roadway and struck a tree.
The unnamed motorist was pinned in the vehicle, and after being extricated by rescue workers, he was flown to Corewell-Butterworth Hospital for treatment for undisclosed injuries. The westbound lanes were blocked off for a short period of time in order for the helicopter to land and take off.
The incident remains under investigation.
